Changes

SearchMyCampus is being revamped! The site’s been live for over 4 months now, and we decided that it needed a new look. A lot of people had said that even though it was very easy to use, it needed some cheering up in terms of how it looked so we decided to do something about that. We aim to please. What you want is what you get. And so on. So we’ve been working on it for a while now and now with the help of a very good web designer, we finally seem to be getting somewhere! The new design should be up and running in a few weeks so watch out for that.

Along the change in design, we’re also unveiling some new features which I’ve already mentioned in my previous posts. We’re sure they should fill in any gaps in the information that our present classifieds section provides, making SearchMyCampus a comprehensive source of information for all student needs. Yes I am aware I am still skirting the topic of what these new features really are, but I am still not at liberty to tell until plans for the same are finalized. You’re just going to have to hold your horses. (I never really understood that phrase. What if someone doesn’t have any horses!)

A major development at the ol’ SMC office this week is the joining of Vidhi Agrawal, a new addition of the team. She’s been the brand manager for a mapping company for almost a year now, and she brings with her a wide range of experience in sales and marketing activities. She also brings with her a lot of enthusiasm and the ability to talk the hind legs off a donkey :)

Other than that, things are moving ahead as usual. We’re still looking for software developers. We’re also looking for campus representatives and content managers to help us with our new features. Anyone looking for an internship over the summer? We promise we’ll play nice :) We’re good people!

SearchMyCampus was featured in an article in the Education Times, a supplement of Times of India a couple of weeks back. That’s the third article in a big newspaper in case anyone’s counting. We were also interviewed for a piece on NewsX, this new news channel by the people who made 9X. But since it isn’t available in a lot of places still, we didn’t really get to see how that went. (Personally I’m quite glad. I tend to squeak when I’m nervous). A blogger from NITT, Sundar, also did an interview with Peyush and me on his blog which was also pretty cool!

All in all things are going good. We’re gearing up for the upcoming admissions period so expect some changes (all good I promise) to the site. You can always contact us at searchmycampus@gmail.com if you have any queries or wanna be part of this brilliant venture!:)
